FAQ’s

Q: How do I reduce the weight of the Genesis® bow?
A: Using the provided 3/16” Allen wrench, turn the limb bolts counter clockwise (top and bottom) equal turns. 1 turn counterclockwise equals approximately 1.4 pounds in reduced bow draw weight.

Q: What is my warranty?
A: 1 year warranty to the original owner (see electronic Owner’s Manual)

Q: Which Genesis® is right for me?
A: That really depends on the size and stature of the archer. Please consult your local Mathews retailer at CLICK HERE.

Q: Which Genesis® is allowed in the National Archery in the Schools Program (archeryintheschools.org)
A: The Original Genesis® (10-20 pound model) is the only bow that is allowed in NASP®

Q: Which Genesis® is allowed in the Centershot Ministries Program? (centershotministries.org)
A: The Original & Mini Genesis® are the only bows allowed in the Centershot program.

Q: How do I know if I need a right hand or left hand bow?
A: It actually depends on your eye dominance. Have the archer stand 7 -10 feet from you. Have them hold both arms straight out & create a small triangle with the hands. Have the archer look at you with both eyes open. The dominant eye will be the one that you will see through the small triangle in the archer’s hands. (Make sure they keep both eyes open for this test)

Q: What is my bow’s draw weight?
A: The draw weight is determined by the model bow. –

The Mini Genesis® is adjustable from 6 -12 pounds.

The Original Genesis® adjustable from 10 to 20 pounds.

The Pro Genesis® is adjustable from 15- 25 pounds.

(see Q & A #1 for further explanation on setting draw weight) The Genesis® family bows are unique in that there is not a specific draw length. The Genesis® family of bows is the Original Universal draw length bow. (Copied often yet never can be replaced…)

Q: How do I replace my arrow rest? (On the Original * Mini)?
A1: The Original Genesis® has a “push in” style arrow rest. Start by taking the 3/16″ Allen wrench that comes with the bow. Place the bow sight window down on a hard surface, push the Allen wrench into the plastic stem that holds the rest in place, install new rest, it’s just that easy.

A2:The Mini comes from the factory with a specially designed stem & nut to hold the rest in place. On the Sight window, pull the factory rest off of the stem & replace.

A3: The Pro Genesis® does not come with an arrow rest. Since the Pro has more features and be easily customized for draw length, we do not include a standard rest on this model bow.

Q: What accessories can I install on my Genesis bow?
A1: All Genesis® model bows are Archery Trade Association Standard. There are a wide variety of accessories that will work on your Genesis® bow, however some may not. We suggest that you consult your local Archery retailer CLICK HERE.

A2: The Original Genesis® was designed to be shot with fingers (a shoot around style arrow rest). We do not recommend that you install a shoot through rest or use a release aide with an Original Genesis® as that is not how the bow was designed to be used.
